The first time I met Lindsey and Justin over coffee they told me how they met and a little about themselves, and we realized it’s a small world as Justin works for the same company as my husband! I learned also what a special person Lindsey is and how she has such a heart for sweet kiddos and works for our school system. The longer we chatted I could tell what an amazing couple they are, and I couldn’t wait to work with them. When talking about their plans they told me that they wanted their engagement session to be at Historic Oak View in Raleigh NC! Historic Oak View is one of my favorite places to do engagement photography as well as portrait photography so naturally I was so excited!! However, little did I know that this couple has ties to this amazing place! His family not only owned this beautiful location for a time, but they also built many of the amazing structures that still stand there today! His family purchased Historic Oak View around 1886 and were responsible to building the cotton gin house, livestock barn, and the carriage house which are all so beautiful and you will see them in the images below. They also planted the sprawling pecan orchard, which is the largest remaining grove in Wake County and produces a crop every year! After hearing this, I was even more excited for this engagement session. How often are you able to document such a special time for a couple on a piece of land that has so much rich family history. What an honor it was, and I love that this will now become part of their legacy together as well. Lindsey and Justin are so much fun, and were up to for anything I asked them to do! During this time there were a lot of smiling, laughing and of course petting of the goats!!
To Lindsey and Justin,
Thank you, for allowing me to be part of such a special time in your life. I am truly honored that I am the one that will be documenting your big day, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you!!
